I was really bummed that we weren't going to have Ethan at all over Rodeo break because he was going out of town with his mom....so we decided it was a good time for a girls weekend! I had my 3 nieces over for a sleepover on Wednesday night. We had root beer floats and did fun girly stuff. My mom came and spent the night too because the next morning she and I took all the girls to the rodeo parade. The parade was pretty lame at best. I've gone almost every year with my mom and this was definitely the most uneventful ever. We went over an hour early and still had nowhere to sit but the worst was that we were the only English speakers there. And I kid you not, there were foreigners singing their national anthem and selling cheap garbage on the sidewalks like you were in the middle of Noggie. There were more Mexican flags than American, the mormon batallion has dwindled to only a few members and my high school's band didn't even show! It's sad becuase we've really enjoyed going over the years but I'm thinking this is the last year that we'll go. My mom said this could be the last year they even do the parade, I said no, it's just the last year before they start doing it on Cinco De Mayo!
On Friday night I had a softball game and a bridal shower and then we had another girls night with all the nieces at my sister's house. All 5 girls and my sister and I did hair curlers, nail polish, makeup, ice cream, marshmallows, movies and had lots of fun. My girls were so excited to be in on the fun even though they were the littlest ones there. Bailey thought she was so cool hangin with the big kids.
